Same person- has multiple personality disorder
Protagonist- A sensitive, kind-hearted teenage girl who is from a lower-class background. Her upbringing involves an unsafe environment where her parents were both drug users, causing her to experience many traumatic events and adding to her sensitive character. She is hard on herself, as she doesn’t want to turn into her parents. She craves academic validation and does everything she can to be liked by her peers and the adults in her life, as she never got the same appreciation from her parents. Little does she know, her craving for validation strives from her alternate personality, who will do anything to get her way. She will be wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt, but when going out with her peers, will wear the revealing outfits to gain validation from men. When she isn't in a public setting, she will keep her body hidden as much as possible due to her over-analyzation of her body that stems from her parents' cruel remarks growing up. She switches between smiling and frowning, as she seems happy when with her friends, but when she is alone, she is depressed and insecure.
Antagonist- An alternate personality of the teen who is the same age and gender as the other, who tends to lean toward violent solutions and crime to solve her problems, knows about the other personality but stays hidden from her. Will commit crimes while avoiding the other personality, will do whatever it takes to get her way and doesn’t care about anyone who gets in her way, including the other personality. Looks exactly the same as the other personality as they are the same person but tends to dress herself in a more grunge style and wear her hair messier as she does not care about what society thinks about them and doesn’t want to bother to live up to the social standards. They have emotionless expressions, and soulless eyes. They don’t seem to have any thoughts or emotions behind their actions and will often act without thinking about consequences as normally the consequences will not affect her

We chose to make our protagonist and antagonist the same person (man vs. Self). Our idea was to create the theme of a mentally ill teenager who is not in control of their second personality. We made certain choices regarding their appearance, such as making the main personality more put-together and brighter, and contrasting with the antagonist personality being grungier and having messy hair. We also decided to base our character in a low-income situation, as we felt it would be a good gateway into the description of why she is mentally ill (how she was raised). We want the audience to know which character is the bad and which is good based on the appearance. We also want to make the audience feel bad for the main personality due to their hard background and her inability to control herself and her life no matter how hard she tries. Not only is this supposed to shed light on the destructiveness that multiple personality disorders can cause, but it is also supposed to make the audience feel like they know the character more than the character knows themselves.
