Week 2: Character Analysis

After deciding on where we plan to film our movie, I have decided to create mood boards for the different characters in our film, as well as provide a brief synopsis on the characters personalities.

Nicole

Nicole is a smart teenage girl who comes from a humble background. She was raised with Christian faith, though she has an inner struggle believing in God due to her past. Her father has a history with substance abuse, which taught her unhealthy coping problems until present day. While she grew up with a tough childhood, she finds comfort in her friends and tries to remain strong even though she wishes she could be vulnerable sometimes. Her ultimate goal is to find herself in a stage of life where she feels free to be herself and find what she enjoys. She has always found a passion for wildlife, as her father used to take her birdwatching when she was little. Now, her and her friends spend time at the beach when they need a break from their lives.

She wears relaxed-fitting clothing due to her inner insecurities, but dresses modestly due to her upbringing and beliefs. She wears a crucifix on her neck to display her faith, as do all of her friends. She has trouble taking care of herself sometimes, however, always remains presentable.

Nicole's character is based off of the book of Numbers from the Old Testament. Her desire to find a place where she can be herself and her passion for wildlife is based on the story of Israelites flee from Egypt to the promised land of Israel.

Genevieve

Genevieve is a classic reckless teenager who keeps the rest of the group on their toes. To the older generation around her, they perceive her as the perfect Christian daughter. However, her peers see her as unholy due to her lack of virginity and her habit of gossiping about others. She has a tattoo of a cross on her shoulder, displaying her 'faithfulness' to God.

Genevieve wears tight fitted clothes and usually dresses quite immodestly. She always wears a cross around her neck, and a purity ring on her finger. She wears a "what would Jesus do" bracelet, to contrast her sinful characteristics.

Genevieve's character is based off of the book of Genesis from the Old Testament. Her sinful personality reflects the book of Genesis, as the passage is about Gods creation, as well as the origin of sin from Adam and Eve.

Lexi

While Lexi has her struggles, she tries her best to remain faithful to God. Her father is the pastor, so she has never missed a Sunday service. She feels immense pressure from her family to remain a role model for her peers, however her friend group from her church are not a good influence on her. She is seen as the "mom" of the friend group, as she is always trying to follow rules and make sure her friends make good decisions. She is the friend who is the first to say something isn't a good idea.

Lexi dresses very modestly and is never seen out of the house without either a nice outfit, or her hair and makeup done. She is seen as almost "too perfect" because she does not let her flaws slip through the cracks. She wears brighter colors and has a lively personality, as her family has always been well-known and approachable, so she always wants to look the part.

Lexi's character is based off of the book of Leviticus. Her "mom-like" character reflects this passage, as the book of Leviticus contains the book of laws.

Elliot

Elliot is a typical teenager who is obsessed with pop culture. His bedroom is covered with pop stars and band posters, and his social media is a constant flow of the newest trends and updates about celebrities. He always has the newest and most popular brands, and people always go to him for fashion advice. He is a sweet boy, however his obsession with pop culture has made him lose his own identity.

Elliot always has some form of celebrity merchandise on at all times. While his clothing items are all popular and well-known, he tends to still have a style of his own. his outfits and clothing color combinations usually clash, reflecting his lack of self-identity.

Elliot's character is based off of the book of Exodus, which is the portion which God teaches the Israelites proper worship. Elliot's personality contradicts this portion, as he idolizes celebrity figures.

Danielle

Danielle is the type of friend that no parents want their child to hang out with. Throughout her teen years, she has been in and out of juvie due to her disobedience and lack of respect for authority. Her family began bringing her to church in order to try and help her find a sense of self-worth. She tends to be a bad influence on her peers.

Danielle wears darker clothing and has many piercings. She has tattoos on her arm and her hair is dyed. She tends to get her style inspiration from her friends from juvenile prison which she has somehow remained friends with.

Danielle's personality is a complete contradiction of the book of Deuteronomy, which introduces the ten commandments. Her disobedient character shows her lack of respect for rules and laws.
