Week 6 (1/3): "Lucid" film opening- The Script

Tires grind against the asphalt as a car rolls into frame, stopping in a parking spot outlined with white paint

Doors open and shut as five girls step out of the car, slamming the doors of the car behind them, expression is seen upon one of their faces

They walk towards the beach, the girl's expression slowly disappearing.

They sit near the shore at the beach, the five of them chatting amongst themselves

The girl who appeared worried before looks to the others and speaks

1: “Are you guys sure this is a good idea- I mean- what if they catch us- or we get in trouble! You know how my mom is!”

The others look to her as she speaks and respond, reassuring her that they are okay

3: “Oh come on! We’ve done it before, and they didn’t catch us then, let loose a bit- don't worry about it!”

Girl four nods to girl three’s statement a relaxed expression upon her face

4: “Besides, it's just one mass that we’re missing. It doesn’t even matter”

Girl one seems to finally relax, nodding meekly to the others, looking out upon the shore

Girl two, who was silent until now, looks to the others with a mischievous expression as she looks out at the water

2: “Hey guys. Do you know what would be literally so fun? Let’s go swimming!”

Her eyes glint with excitement as she presents her idea, looking to the others, waiting for their responses

5: “That’s an awful idea. You’ll get a cold and get sick. We’d rather not.”

2: “Oh whatever! I’ll just go by myself then! You guys are a bunch of letdowns.”

She rolls her eyes and stands up, walking away from the group and to the water, where waves can be heard crashing against the beach.

The rest of the girls are silent until girl two is out of frame, and begin to speak, gossiping about how they don't like girl two

The focus switches back and forth from girl two walking down the beach and the friends as they continue to gossip and as girl two begins to enter the water

The scene comes to focus on the main group of girls, chatting and laughing with each other, until a scream pierces the scene

The scene switches to go back to the water. Girl two emerges, dragging herself out of the water screaming help

The other girl run to the water’s edge, where girl two continues to ask for help

2: “It- it- I don't know what that was! Help me!”

The rest of the girls begin to panic as they pick her up, wrapping her in a towel, running down the beach with her, back towards the parking lot, abandoning their stuff at the beach in the process

They arrive at the car and lift her in, propping her up in the middle seat.

Girl five sits in the passenger seat, she turns around to face girl two

5: “Let me just see your stomach. There’s lots of blood”

Girl five lifts girl two’s shirt, and on girl twos stomach is a bloody wound in the shape of a pentagram, girl fives face twists into an expression of horror

5: “What. The. Fu-”

Girl five is cut off by the title screen popping up, displaying the title: “Lucid”
